On March 20, 2017 town staff and Norris Design presented the finished Parks Master Plan made possible by a grant received from Greater Outdoors Colorado (GOCO).

At this meeting the Severance Town Board of Trustees approved this plan and directed town staff to begin working on a design for a new Community Park. Following this decision, at the April 17th Meeting the Town Board allocated funds towards the initial design and towards applying for a second GOCO Grant in Fall to complete design and begin planning construction. This project will be completed in several phases and will include the design of new amenities along WCR 23 and WCR 72, the expansion and update of amenities throughout Lakeview Park and the dog park and will include new trails for connectivity, all while also trying to maintain a fair amount open space and natural area. It is the overall goal of Town Staff to build this community park using monies received from the Conservation Trust Fund (MORE INFORMATION HERE) and through applying for several grants. 

Over the next few months the Assistant Town Administrator, Nicholas Wharton, and the Town Planner, Mitch Nelson, will be sending out surveys and conducting Public Meetings to gather information from residents on what they would like to see incorporated in our Community Park.
