Community & Economic Development (CED)

Emphasis on “Community!”

The Town of Severance has experienced substantial growth over the past decade. The Community  & Economic Development Department (CED) is central to this growth and is tasked with four primary responsibilities.

  • Manage the creation and enforcement of long-range planning documents and policies adopted by the Town’s elected officials, which guide Severance towards a bright future.
  • Facilitate the review of current planning activities such as development review, agreement documents such as Intergovernmental Agreements (IGA) and Memoranda of Understanding (MOU), and development agreements.
  • Execute related Capital Projects to keep up with and help manage short-term growth, and provide future opportunities for  long-term growth.
  • Promote and develop a strong economy through Economic Development, and business expansion and retention.

The role of the department is to foster public involvement, creativity, and assist decision-makers and the public in the development of policies that balance the needs of the Town for both the present and the future.
